Great news for anyone who is interested in purchasing a 2016 INFINITI QX50. The luxury brand just announced official pricing, and it starts at just $34,450, making the crossover a serious quality proposition for anyone in the market for a luxury crossover vehicle.
When compared to the starting price of the 2015 model, INFINITI has actually made the 2016 model more affordable. On top of that, the new model comes with $1,700 in new standard equipment. Other improvements have been introduced for the new model year, including a wheelbase that’s 3.2 inches longer than before, an overall length that’s 4.5 inches longer, and about 8.3 cubic feet of additional interior space. INFINITI kept the comfort of rear passengers in mind when deciding what to do with the larger dimensions, adding 4.3 inches in legroom for the backseat area and 3.9 inches of knee room.
Other changes have been applied to the body of the 2016 model, making it easily distinguishable from the previous year. Design cues from other INFINITI vehicles that have been recently redesigned were incorporated into the crossover, making it look more futuristic, athletic and advanced than ever before. With a ride height that’s 0.8 inches taller than before, the vehicle looks more like an SUV, emphasizing its utilitarian abilities.
All trim levels now come with a power moonroof standard, which is a nice addition. Heated seats are also included, no matter the 2016 QX50. Joining the selection of exterior paint colors is Hagane Blue, providing a fresh take on the crossover. The optional 19-inch wheels come with a completely new design, further dressing up the exterior.
Each of the optional equipment packages have been revised for the 2016 model year. A Premium Plus Package joins the previous lineup of Premium, Deluxe Touring and Technology packages. The different packages for the QX50 also feature an impressive list of content, and can be had for incredibly competitive prices.
For example, the Premium Package only costs $500 and it bundles together an advanced climate control system with maple interior wood accents, aluminum roof rails, an 11-speaker Bose Premium Audio system and other luxurious equipment. INFINITI estimates that the overall value of the features contained in the Premium Package totals about $4,500, making it an incredible buy. That kind of a deal makes it a great time to be looking for a luxury crossover to transport the family or even daily commuting duty.
Housed under the beautifully sculpted hood of each 2016 INFINITI QX50 is a 3.7-liter V-6 engine. It produces a peak 325 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful options in the market segment. A seven-speed automatic transmission is mated to the engine, sending power to the rear wheels. All-wheel drive can be added, providing better all-around traction.
A generous array of standard features are included on each QX50, such as leather upholstery, Intelligent Key with a Push Button Ignition, Bluetooth handsfree phone system, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, a Rearview Monitor and 18-inch alloy wheels for a luxurious experience. For those who demand more conveniences, an adaptive front lighting system that includes auto-leveling headlights can be added. INFINITI also offers some cutting-edge technologies such as a blind spot warning system, navigation, lane departure prevention, intelligent cruise control, Distance Control Assist, Intelligent Brake Assist (with Forward Collision Warning) and the Around View Monitor with a front and rear sonar system.
