INFINITI QX80 Monograph

INFINITI debuted their flagship SUV, the QX80 Monograph Concept at the New York Auto Show in 2017. The Japanese automaker’s introduction of this 16-foot long, 8,500 pound SUV marks the first complete overhaul of the vehicle in several years. Slated to be available toward the end of the 2017 calendar year, the 2018 INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept is designed to be an almost complete departure from its previous concepts.

Features of the 2018 INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept

The 2018 INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept features a sleek wraparound windshield that seamlessly melds into the side windows. The low-profile tires are set off by the trendy black and gold rims to make this SUV stand out above the crowd in style. The 24-inch wheels are straight spoked to make them look more luxurious.

The organic and geometric shape come together with the 2018 INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept’s aluminum trim and character lines to deliver a presence that looks big and bold. Measuring between 16 and 17 feet long, 6 feet high and 6 feet wide, this SUV is upscale luxury personified. The long slender lines of the headlamps wrap sleekly around the front corners of the 2018 INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept’s oversized grille. The rear-view cameras are sculpted into the front doors and stand in for the side mirrors on this SUV. Light bars on the ends of the doors add in modern illumination.

Oversized fender vents are functional in order to divert air to the engine to improve its performance. The underside of the 2018 INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept is protected by a specialized underbody cover that also helps improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics. The aerofoil located between its tailpipes is designed to improve the airflow in the wake of the SUV.

2018 INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept Performance

Expect the 2018 INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept to have a 5.6L V-8 engine that churns out 400 horsepower as well as 413 lb-ft of torque. This engine is married to a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Powerful and Smooth Handling

In addition, the designers of the INFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept used a body-on-frame Nissan platform to provide the ability to tow up to 8,500 pounds. The independent rear suspension — which is also self-leveling and manufactured with multiple links — is designed to help make driving both with and without loads smooth and nearly effortless.

While INFINITI has not revealed the specifics of the interior of its QX80 Monograph Concept, it is expected to be as luxurious and laden with features as one would expect from a flagship concept vehicle. Though it shares platforms and drivetrains with the Nissan brand, consumers will be hard pressed to make a visual connection between the two with the INIFINITI QX80 Monograph Concept.
