2015 Q50 & Q70 Awarded Top Safety Pick+ by IIHS

Owning a 2015 INFINITI Q50 or Q70 means you can enjoy more peace of mind. The two sedans recently went through testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and were given the highest award of Top Safety Pick+. Instead of having to worry about car crashes, you can rest assured knowing that both vehicles are incredibly safe. IIHS has a solid reputation for evaluating just how safe vehicles are. The organization puts each car, truck and SUV it tests through a series of tests. For any model to be named a Top Safety Pick, it must get a "good" rating in the moderate front overlap, side, head restraint and roof strength tests, plus at least either a "good" or "acceptable" rating in the notorious small overlap front test. more Earning the highest rank of Top Safety Pick+ is even more difficult since it involves attaining the same scores as Top Safety Pick vehicles, plus netting an "advanced" or "superior" rating for front crash prevention technologies. In other words, the car not only does well in a crash, but is also useful at preventing them. Both the 2015 INFINITI Q50 and Q70 performed exceptionally well in all of the IIHS safety tests, which is why consumers can trust their very lives and the lives of their loved ones to the cars. Thanks to several innovations, the sedans excel in crashworthiness, keeping occupants free form harm in a variety of situations. Ultra-high strength steel provides excellent reinforcement for the frame, and zone construction prevents intrusions into the occupant cell. The Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS) technology helps with avoiding drifting lanes, something that can easily cause an accident. A small camera is mounted behind the windshield, monitoring the lane lines on the road. If the car starts to wander without a turn signal turned on, the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system uses visual and audio alerts to get the driver's attention. When this happens, the system also provides light steering inputs to bring the car back to the center of the lane, if the driver ignores the warnings that are issued. At the same time, the Active Lane Control (ALC) makes minor steering corrections when driving on the highway, keeping the vehicle centered in its lane at all times. On top of that, the INFINITI Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) system acts as an extra set of eyes for the driver, helping to take off a significant amount of pressure. When FEB detects a potential collision in front of the vehicle, it gets the driver's attention using both audible and visual alerts. The system also applies partial braking, allowing the car to come to a full stop in less time, potentially avoiding a crash. If for whatever reason the driver doesn't react to the first round of cautions, even more urgent warnings sound out. More pressure is applied to the brakes, potentially mitigating or completely preventing a collision. Buyers can also add the optional Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) system. It works to tell drivers when there are different risks that lie outside of the field of view. The advanced technology not only detects the presence of other vehicles on the road, it measures their distance from the car and their relative velocity. In addition, it can read a line of vehicles on the road, which means the system can detect when traffic ahead is slowing down. Another INFINITI, the QX60 SUV, also went through the IIHS tests recently. It performed well, capturing a Top Safety Pick rating, further demonstrating INFINITI's commitment to safety.

Virtual PlayStation Racing Car to Become a Physical Concept

Sometimes, the lines between the virtual and physical worlds are blurred. That's certainly the case for the INFINITI Vision Gran Turismo, a concept car that was originally created to be used in Gran Turismo 6, a racing game for the Sony PlayStation 3. The video game version of the racer was originally released back in December of 2014 and has proven to be a popular option in the game. Gran Turismo has actually recruited a few luxury automotive brands to create vehicles that have existed first in the virtual racing simulator. decided to take things a step further and use the digital car to create a version that can be driven in the real world. more Like the video game car, the INFINITI Vision Gran Turismo has an incredibly low ride height that is only suitable for track use. The front end is angular and aggressive, complete with a sneering grille, plus protruding splitter and air intakes. That appearance contrasts with the rest of the body, which is smooth and flowing. The man behind the design of the INFINITI Vision Gran Turismo is Jeremy Liu, who is 29 years old. A Chinese designer who works for INFINITI at a studio based in Beijing, he is part of a team of about 30 people. When leaders from INFINITI and Nissan put together an internal competition to design the video game ride, Liu's design caught their attention. The automaker knew that such a vehicle would surely turn heads in Gran Turismo, which it has. Much like the excitement and rewards players experience in slot games for real money, the INFINITI Vision Gran Turismo has captured the attention and admiration of fans worldwide. When it came time to translate the virtual car into a real machine, INFINITI put together a team of 30 people. Half of the team was located in China, while the other half was scattered around the globe, making the project truly international. The entire process of fabricating the vehicle lasted about eight months. While consumers and fans of the Gran Turismo video game franchise might fantasize about driving the physical car, there's a pretty slim change that will ever happen. According to INFINITI, there are no plans to create a production version of the model. The Vision Gran Turismo punctuates some of the elements that are driving INFINITI vehicle design recently. It is no secret that the automotive landscape around the world has become increasingly competitive, especially when it comes to luxury models. INFINITI knows that its vehicles must stand out from the masses, which is why the company's designers have been injecting edgier elements into various aspects of different vehicles. With a sportier, more aggressive design aesthetic, INFINITI hopes that it draw in more luxury car shoppers. Such a distinctive look would also create a strong brand image, which would in turn help secure a brighter future for the company. People like to associate unique elements with different companies, creating a kind of icon they can look for when identifying unfamiliar models. Thanks to the whole Vision Grand Turismo project, INFINITI is also communicating to people all over the glove that the luxury brand has changed. Unlike years and years ago, today INFINITI has four design studios located in key parts of the world. The one in Beijing became operational in 2014, injecting a heavy influence from the largest vehicle market. With the different studios, INFINITI is able to craft models that are appealing to consumers in that region of the world, giving the company a vital competitive edge. Expect to see more dramatic concept vehicles as well as future production models rolling out of China in the coming years.

IIHS Names INFINITI Among Top Safety Picks!

The  (IIHS) recently announced that both the INFINITI Q50 and the Q70 equipped with Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) have been named as Top Safety Pick+. The award is the highest honor given out by the vehicle safety organization, putting both models in an elite group of cars. In addition, the INFINITI QX60 was named by the IIHS as a Top Safety Pick. more To be named as a Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must measure up to IIHS standards for crashworthiness. The organization determines each model's performance by putting it through roof strength, head restraint, moderate overlap front and side tests. In addition, a car or SUV must also receive a good or acceptable rating for the notoriously difficult small overlap front crash test. The Top Safety Pick+ distinction is even more difficult to achieve. A certain model must meet all of the test standards required to be called a Top Safety Pick. In addition, the vehicle has to be outfitted with a front crash prevention system, helping out the driver with avoiding head-on crashes. The performance of that advanced technology is critical in determining if the vehicle takes the top honor or not. INFINITI's incredibly advanced Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) system played a key role in the Q50 and Q70 scooping up the award, demonstrating how serious the luxury brand is about safety. Missouri's sports betting role has also been growing, with the state taking steps to regulate and promote safe, enjoyable betting options for residents, similar to the way INFINITI ensures safety in their vehicles. Any INFINITI model that's equipped with Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) will actually warn the driver about an imminent frontal collision. Both visual and audible warnings will be triggered to get the driver's attention. At the same time, the system will apply part of the braking power, making it easier to bring the car to a complete stop and avoid an accident. If for any reason the driver isn't responsive to the first warnings, a more obvious warning is pushed out and the system applies even more braking pressure, allowing the car to stop in even less time. This advanced technology also works with Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) that is a revolutionary technology. It makes drivers aware of potential dangers that they might not otherwise notice, detecting the relative velocity of the threat and its distance from the car. The system can also detect if traffic ahead suddenly begins to slow, helping the driver avoid a panic stop. A number of safety technologies are used on the INFINITI Q50, employing active and passive methods of keeping the driver and passengers safe. The vehicle's structure is made using ultra-high strength steel. It also incorporates zone body construction, using front and rear crumple zones, plus a reinforced occupant area to protect against intrusions that would result in an injury. The INFINITI Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) provides excellent coverage for front and rear seat outboard occupants. Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and another technology, called Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS), warns drivers about lane drift. Included on the INFINITI Q70 are a number of advanced driver assistance technologies that add an extra layer of protection. Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) are among them. The Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Blind Spot Intervention (BSI) systems both come in the optional Technology Package. They warn if another vehicle is hiding in the car's blind spot, using a light. In the event the driver doesn't notice the warning and turns on a turn signal in the direction of the hidden vehicle, an audible warning sounds out. If the car drifts toward the lane marker when another vehicle is in its blind spot, the system will apply the brakes enough to move the Q70 away from the threat and back into the middle of its lane

INFINITI QX30

INFINITI Reveals a Glimpse of the QX30

INFINITI has decided to tease fans and consumers with an obscured glimpse of the new INFINITI QX30 crossover. The luxury brand has been fairly tight-lipped about the completely new model, which stands to shake things up quite a bit once it launches in the market. It will be the smallest crossover in the luxury brand's lineup once it does launch, helping further round out the company's offering and compete better with rival brands. The official unveiling of the new vehicle has been set for the Geneva auto show, where it will surely make a huge splash inside the industry, as well as with the public. more In the photo, only a little bit of the vehicle's shape is put on display, thanks to plenty of shadows. Naturally, everyone is speculating about the final product's design, which so far looks incredibly good. In the meantime, INFINITI fans will have to be patient and wait until the full reveal. The QX30 will kick off an impressive lineup of new models that are set to continue aunching all the way through 2018. INFINITI will be busy filling in a number of gaps in its current lineup, addressing market growth areas that could easily send the image of the brand and its sales figures skyrocketing. Among the exciting new vehicles is a production version of the Q80 Inspiration concept, a big and dramatic fastback that was on display in Paris during the fall of 2014. Another is the compact car that will use the same set of engines as a new model from Mercedes-Benz. Along with the QX30, Infinity plans to launch the compact Q30 hatchback and another small entry-level model, which hasn't yet been revealed in any way. The three vehicles are the leading edge in an effort to draw in younger consumers who want a premium car without getting something they perceive as too large. Ultimately, the hope is that the owners will become lifelong and dedicated fans of INFINITI, providing a reliable following as they purchase more expensive and larger vehicles later. Young consumers should be drawn to the QX30, a product INFINITI is calling "an urban explorer." It was designed so that it fits into an urban landscape with ease, while still offering a high degree of practicality. Parking the crossover on the side of the street, as well as maneuvering it through tight alleys shouldn't be a problem. At the same time, it provides the kind of utility that people need for quick weekend getaways that can take place in more remote areas. To help communicate the dual nature of the model, INFINITI says that the QX30 comes with elevated seats, a more muscular body and a dramatically sloping back end that mimics the appearance of a coupe. With the QX30 and a number of other models on their way, the level of excitement at INFINITI of Cool Springs is quite high. Before the close of 2015, the QX30, Q30 and the third mystery vehicle will launch. The three should generate considerable interest from the public, helping boost the image of INFINITI as a luxury brand. The Q60 will also get some much needed relief in the first quarter of 2016, when a new model takes its place. The new options should address many of the needs that modern car shoppers have, making them highly competitive in the marketplace. The production version of the Q80 will be interesting to see once it's been finally revealed. The concept was so dramatic that it turned quite a few heads in Paris, plus it generated considerable buzz.

INFINITI of Cool Springs: INFINITI Previews a New Q60

INFINITI used the 2015 North American International Auto Show to preview of the upcoming Q60. The Q60 was formerly the INFINITI G, a model that has been incredibly popular with consumers. The sleek coupe indicates that the future is bright for the luxury brand. The best part is that the new Q60 is within reach, with the new generation launching in the latter part of 2015 as a 2016 model. more Those who caught the INFINITI Q80 Inspiration concept coupe back in October during the auto show in Paris should find the Q60 coupe concept somewhat familiar. That's because the car borrows from some of the styling elements of the larger vehicle, adding a sleekness and modern touch that indicates an exciting new direction. In addition, some hints of the Q50 Eau Rouge sports sedan are also present, rounding out the appearance with some sportiness. The Q60 coupe concept has a front-end and hood that are trimmer than what is featured on many competing models, which adds to the sports car-inspired persona. The creased lines on the hood, doors, and other parts of the car provide a personality that commands attention and respect. Looking at the car from the side reveals a silhouette that flows in a pattern that is attractive and unique, promising a production version that will be unlike anything else available in the current market. One of the most prominent features of the INFINITI Q60 concept coupe are the 21-inch wheels. They have a matte metal and chrome finish that are designed to mimic the look of jet turbine blades, adding to the car's unique appearance. Those who are fortunate enough to spend some time inside the vehicle will find that carbon fiber accents are prominent, as is hand-stitched leather upholstery, giving it decidedly upscale feel. Not only has the look of the Q60 been upgraded, so has its powertrain. INFINITI revealed that the concept coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6. The setup should supply significantly more horsepower and torque than with the previous iterations of the car, helping it stack up against modern luxury sport coupes. Considering that the current Q60's engine pumps out 330 horsepower, the output for the new model promises to be amazing. Just how much more powerful the new setup will be is something fans of INFINITI will have to wait for official word on, which will be coming soon enough. The forced-induction engine will also likely allow the car to attain fuel economy that will also be impressive, giving future owners the best of both worlds. Also helping out with efficiency and performance will be a seven-speed automatic transmission. Currently, the Q60 is powered by a naturally-aspirated V-6 engine. Handling should also be significantly improved for the new Q60. INFINITI divulged in Detroit that the car will utilize and enhanced INFINITI Direct Adaptive Steering system, which is a pumped-up drive-by-wire electric power steering setup. It is supposed to provide even greater precision as well as improved driver feedback, helping owners feel more connected to the vehicle and the road. There are still some mysteries about the next-generation INFINITI Q60. While the final look and specs of the car have yet to be revealed, what has been unveiled looks and sounds impressive. It's a good thing that we only have to wait a few more months to find out more and see the vehicle hit the showroom floor. INFINITI has a history of shaking things up in the luxury car market, and the new model seems to be poised to carry on that proud legacy.

Fuel Efficient Q50

Discover the Fuel Efficient INFINITI Q50 Hybrid

You might not be aware of it, but the INFINITI Q50 has not only been praised for delivering excellent performance, but also is recognized as a fuel efficient luxury vehicle. The Q50 Hybrid offers up excellent fuel economy and even was put on the KBB.com 10 Most Fuel-Efficient Luxury Cars of 2014 list. Not only is the luxury hybrid sedan good at sipping fuel instead of guzzling gas, it also is the most powerful hybrid option on the list that was created by Kelley Blue Book, thanks to a top output of 360 horsepower. That outclasses models like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Lexus IS, which are all options many consider darlings in the automotive industry. In other words, INFINITI has found a solution that works better. more The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the hybrid sedan's fuel economy at 29 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway, which are some impressive figures. Adding all-wheel drive to the vehicle provides only a small hit to its efficiency, dipping those numbers only slightly to 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that works with the INFINITI Direct Response Hybrid system, which involves a 50 kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery that supplies electric power. The strategy INFINITI uses is to go a different route than other luxury automakers that often drop a larger engine in a car to supply big performance increases. While the peak horsepower output from the hybrid powertrain is listed above, car shoppers should also know just how much torque the INFINITI Q50's hybrid setup generates. The gasoline engine produces 258 lb.-ft. of peak torque, while the electric motor contributes 214 lb.-ft. for an impressive result. What many people fail to understand is that much of what they refer to as power in a car, particularly while driving in a city, is actually torque, and the Q50 Hybrid comes with plenty. A seven-speed automatic transmission works with the hybrid powertrain to send power to the wheels. The transmission is electronically controlled, with an adaptive learning algorithm that is set up to detect the driver's style as well as road conditions, adjusting how it makes gear transitions accordingly. If drivers want to shift manually, they can by selecting the manual mode. The Q50 Hybrid even can tailor how it behaves on the road, allowing the driver to change its nature based on mood, traffic conditions, or even the desire to conserve fuel. The INFINITI Drive Mode selector comes with a Standard setting that offers a balance between efficiency and performance. Sport favors rapid acceleration, while Eco focuses on maximizing fuel efficiency. Snow is calibrated to reduce wheel slip, helping the driver keep control of the car in slick road conditions. A Personal mode can be customized by the car's owner. Not only can Q50 Hybrid owners feel good about helping protect the environment, they can also feel good about enjoying some on-road fun at least now and then. Thanks to the mountains of torque the hybrid powertrain creates, the sedan can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds, making it exceptionally quick. The trick of fuel efficiency involves more than just the gasoline-powered engine and electric motor. Regenerative brakes are standard equipment, helping recharge the car's lithium-ion battery every time the car slows down or stops. The INFINITI Q50 Hybrid also uses an intelligent dual-clutch that provides the full level of engine torque for excellent performance fun, but without causing the luxury sedan to chug fuel. If you have an interest in test driving the Q50 Hybrid Premium or Hybrid Sport please contact our INFINITI dealer today.

INFINITI Q30

The INFINITI Q30 Compact Hatchback Coming Soon

The INFINITI Q30 Compact Hatchback is Coming Soon! INFINITI fans, it's time to get excited because the Q30 is coming soon! Right now, INFINITI is road-testing the new compact hatchback model, with an anticipated release date of somewhere in 2016. That means in the near future, customers in the Nashville, Tennessee area will be able to get behind the wheel of this revolutionary vehicle and be a part of the exciting future of the brand. more The five-door Q30 was constructed on the same platform as Mercedes-Benz's A-Class, which is a European-only model. It is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that was designed by Daimler, Mercedes-Benz's parent company. One key difference in the Q30 versus the A-Class will likely be the use of a different transmission, as INFINITI is expected to not use the seven-speed automatic created by Daimler. Instead, INFINITI will probably source a continuously variable or automatic transmission from Jatco, which already supplies transmissions to Nissan. The car was first revealed in 2013 as a concept during the Frankfurt auto show. The Q30 of course will be the smallest vehicle sold by INFINITI. As a result, it will have a youthful appeal that should draw in many younger owners to the INFINITI family. According to Michael Bartsch, who is the chief of INFINITI Americas, the new vehicle was crafted to be different from any other INFINITI model since younger car shoppers are looking for luxury vehicles that are unlike traditional models. The concept of the INFINITI Q30's design is centered on a small sports coupe that is mixed with the commanding ride height of a crossover and the utilitarian aspects of a hatchback car. The result is a vehicle that is truly unique and exciting, and will surely create a buzz around the luxury brand worldwide. The new model will be constructed at INFINITI's production facility located in Sunderland, England. So far, a manufacturing start day has not been announced. INFINITI also has not released any details about when in 2016 the car will be introduced to the United States car market, or in any other market around the world. There is a possibility that a United States-specific version of the Q30 will begin production in 2017 at a new production facility located in Aguascalientes, Mexico. What changes will come about for the model as a result remain to be seen. INFINITI has announced that the new factory will manufacture three unnamed compact vehicles alongside three Mercedes-Benz compact models. Sometime after 2017, another new INFINITI model will launch, and it will be based on the Q30 compact hatchback. The new vehicle will be called the QX30 and will be the entry-level crossover for the luxury brand. Like the Q30, the new model will be aimed squarely at younger car shoppers, addressing their specific desires. Contact INFINITI of Cool Springs for more information. QX60 Backup Collision Intervention(BCI)-An INFINITI World's First Technology

INFINITI is known for its innovation and concern for the safety of its drivers, and it has the safety features to back it up. The most recent piece of safety technology to its growing list is Backup Collision Intervention, BCI for short. This is actually the first technology of its kind in the world, further proving INFINITI’s innovation. more What It Senses Simply put, Backup Collision Intervention is designed to help prevent accidents while backing up your vehicle. In order to do so, it involves a range of sensors in crucial locations. These sensors are able to detect both moving objects, such as crossing traffic or incoming vehicles, and larger stationary objects that you may not be aware of. This allows the system to provide extra protection in case you happen to miss a moving or stationary object while backing up. Warning Indicators The BCI system has a range of indicators in place to ensure that you are aware of potential collisions while backing up, and it is designed so that you will use three of your senses when receiving these warnings: sight, hearing, and touch. When the vehicle is still approaching and you still have sufficient time to react, you will hear a brief audio alert and see a flashing light in the vehicle to indicate its approach. Avoiding Collision If for some reason you don’t notice the first warning indicators of an approaching vehicle or simply don’t react in time, Backup Collision Intervention will take appropriate steps to avoid collision and keep you safe. This comes in the form of a red indicator on the display unit of your vehicle accompanied by three beeps. At the same time, the system will automatically push backward on the accelerator and engage your brakes so you don’t hit the moving or stationary object. Other Safety Features The QX60 doesn’t just keep you safe with the Backup Collision Intervention system; this is just one of many innovative features offered by INFINITI to prevent accidents and prevent serious injury if the worst does occur. INFINITI was also responsible for the first Around View Monitor in the world, and now it includes Moving Object Detection. This system gives you a 360-degree view of the area around you right on your crossover’s display. It also gives you both audio and visual warnings and cues to help you park your vehicle, even when parallel parking. Other great features that will keep you safe and are industry firsts are Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Prevention, which work with the existing Blind Spot Warning and Lane Departure Warning systems. These intervention and prevention systems take the warnings found in many vehicles a step further by automatically helping you stay in your lane when a potential collision is detected. Other innovative safety features worth mentioning include Brake Assist with Preview, Intelligent Brake Assist, and the INFINITI Advanced Air Bag System. Use the best car buying sites to shop your existing car online to be able to buy one of these. Staying Safe The goal of INFINITI is to keep drivers safe, and that clearly comes through in its innovative safety features. When driving the QX60, simply remember that you should still follow your standard safety methods while driving, such as checking your rearview mirrors, but you will always have peace of mind with Backup Collision Intervention and other advanced safety features.
